Follow these Tips for Booking Your Stay in Ubud
Is Ubud the best place to stay in Bali?
Ubud is the spiritual center of Bali. It’s the city where yoga, meditation, and all kinds of authentic classes on energy healing, soul healing, and more are most readily available.
Additionally, Ubud is located rather centrally on the island, which makes it a neat spot to take day trips from.
However, if you’re looking for the beach life, or even itching a little for partying while in Bali, I’d recommend checking out Canggu instead.
I’ve created a full itinerary that helps you determine what you should do both in Ubud and Canggu, so that you don’t miss a thing.
What is the best time to visit Bali?
The best time to visit Bali is between May/June or October. During these months, it’s shoulder season. While tourists will be fewer due to work and school schedules, the weather will be fantastic and you’ll have the best chance at catching Mama Bali at her best.
If you don’t mind tourists too much, the summer months – June until September – are great, too. the weather is great during that time, which keeps the humidity somewhat in check.
Stay Safe: Insurance and Precautions
The Balinese driving etiquette is lax, to say the least, humidity contributes to lots of mold which can lead to skin diseases, and mosquitos sometimes carry diseases.
Ergo, absolutely do get travel insurance for your trip to Bali. For just one week, your domestic insurance might cover you, but do check for tropical diseases, and motorcycle and water sports coverage.
If your domestic insurance doesn’t fully cover you, I recommend SafetyWing for your trip. It’s robust, cheap, and adjustable to your needs. You can even book coverage on your layover en route to Bali if you’ve forgotten.
Additionally, always check Google Reviews before dining at any restaurant in Bali, searching for “Bali Belly”. Unfortunately, severe diarrhea due to stomach upset isn’t all too uncommon amongst visitors of Bali. Be sure you carry medicinal charcoal.
Do I need a Visa to go to Bali?
Most nationals need to register for a Visa On Arrival before entering Bali. The visa costs $35 and lasts for 30 days. While you could get in line to get it on arrival at the airport, it’s much faster to register for your VOA online via this website.
Final Words
There you have it: Bali truly does have a hotel for every budget and every taste. While some lower priced homestays in Bali may not offer quite the service one would typically expect from other parts of the world, slightly more luxurious hotels are going above and beyond.
Some of the best hotels in Ubud with private pool will tempt just about every traveler to both indulge in the luxuries of life and the spiritual way of life offered all throughout the city.

This look so wonderful. I went to Bali for work only and my only trip away from Kuta/airport area was to check out a fabric shop… but I loved what I saw , and I wish to return to Bali soon… I would love to visit Ubud, and I am going to read your week itinerary!
I hope you make it back there soon – it’s a truly magical island. Lots of trash, unfortunately, but the energy there is unmatched. Here’s the link to the itinerary, let me know if you have questions: https://wayofthefounder.com/one-week-itinerary-for-bali/
Ubud looks like a dream!! I definitely wouldn’t mind a vacay in these resorts!
Yup! Feels like heaven!
Wowza! I don’t think I have ever stayed somewhere with a private pool, so all of these look fabulous! We normally just sleep at the hotel and spend holidays exploring… but I feel like you’d need to spend plenty of time in the room (and pool!) if you stayed at any of these!
I hear you. The private pool certainly invites one to linger on site more than normally. When we went and got ourselves a private pool, we mostly used it in the morning and right after returning from sightseeing to cool off. Even at night after dinner, it’s pretty magical to watch the stars while floating on the water.
