When I hired my first serious business coach in 20 When I hired my first serious business coach in 2019, I expected her to review my sales page.

Maybe my website.
Maybe my webinar.
Maybe my offer.

Instead, she asked to see my emails and DMs.

Honestly?
It felt like she was going through my underwear drawer.

At the time, I had about 60 days of runway left.

The rent was due.
The tax office was knocking.
And I didn’t have the luxury of waiting for SEO, content, or brand awareness to work.

I needed clients.
Fast. 🫣🤯

Within a week of having my communications reviewed, I was booking sales calls.

Within a month, I’d signed a $4,900 pay-in-full client.

And within eight weeks, I was closing calls at a 60-70% rate.

And what fascinates me is this:

Almost nobody is looking at the conversation itself.

Coaches will invest in branding, websites, content strategy, copywriting, funnels, SEO, and sales page reviews.

Meanwhile, the sale was often lost three messages ago.

Not because the coach didn’t care.
Not because they weren’t good at what they do.
But because I see the same patterns over and over again:

In who they were being.
In how they qualified.
In when they invited.
In whether they were willing to lead.
