Don’t disregard this: Traveling will not magica $Don’t disregard this: Traveling will not magically solve your problems. They’ll walk right into your suitcase and come along for the ride. Sure, travel might offer a new perspective on your problems, but it’s not a magic solution. If you’re hoping to build a freedom based business that involves travel, you’ve got to first do the opposite of traveling, and that is to sit your booty down and look at the things in your life that are unfulfilling, rubbing you the wrong way, feel off. The onus is on YOU to change your relationship to that which doesn’t work for you, and to do so before your travel. If you do this, the added shift in persepctive that full-time traveling does offer will be a beneficial bonus. If you don’t do this, full-time travel will ultimately simply perpetuate more of the same and you’ll come to resent that which you once thought to be your dream life. Let’s not just become nomads to escape, let’s become nomads to fundamentally shift the narrative you live. This past week, my timeline’s been full of marke $This past week, my timeline’s been full of marketers and coaches who sell the digital nomad lifestyle, and shared (false??) sympathy with those that feel they can no longer live in a society that’s voting policies into law that overtly discriminate against them, offering their courses as a remedy: just make money online and leave your country, I saw them exclaim! URGH! Where to begin?! I’ll just say: Learning to create money online and gaining the mindset to work from anywhere shouldn’t happen from a place of escapism. It should happen from an unwavering belief that we, as a society, can do so much better than we are right now. It should happen from a place of wanting to change the way things are and choosing entrepreneurship as a vehicle. It should happen because you recognized that there’s a way out of opression and that you’ll build a business that paves that way for thousands of your community members. Let’s have THAT conversation: what good is your freedom doing to those around you? Let’s let changing leadership be a time of leading, not escpaing into freedom. Let’s let times of hate and ‘us versus them’ be a time of creating space, through entrepreneurship, to forge a new path, not just as an individual, but as a society. Willingly or not, your baggage will take up space inside your luggage. So what do you do, if you can’t escape your trauma, your mom, your relationship patterns, the furry you get whenever someone cringes at your extravagent plans? You stop, drop the luggage, and sit with your baggage: If you want to be truly free, free without running away from your trauma for the rest of your life, you have to create space to heal whatever it is that you’re running away form. You can start easy: Create an hour of Journaling time every day Work with a therapist once a week Begin to read books, like Discovering the Inner Mother Enroll into meditation class Write down your fears every night to acknowledge them. Name your emotions out lot to acknowledge them. This inner journey is the biggest part of creating true freedom - my clients learn over time that it’s this inner exploration that leads to the biggest breakthroughs in business.
